Happy Holidays! Here comes a Christmas Blog from yours truly!
My annual Halloween Collab, the Ghoul Gathering Collab, is up on my website! You can check it out here! This year came a bit late because I was still in California visiting Ki and my other friends. I'm so sorry for the delay! Next year will be the 10th collab, which is really exciting. I ought to think of something really fun to mark the occasion. I also need to promote it more heavily next year- this year was a bit of an off year for me, ngl, but I'm happy with how it turned out.
We just recorded our annual Yuletide Special earlier this week- it's set to air on the 18th, so I need to edit it together sooner rather than later. We had a few prerecorded segments this year, which is super nice, I think they'll really add something. Most of the performances were really good but there was one kid who you'd suspect had never heard Jingle Bells before and one lady who was painfully flat... Oops! But I heard my boss say we're gonna be more selective in auditions next year. Thank goodness!
Aside from that, we're setting up to go live from my town's annual Storytelling Festival this weekend, which is always a fun show. They've got lots of professional storytellers, which I didn't even know was a thing before this, who all have their alotted time to just tell a tale. There are always really funny ones, and last year there was a really poignant one about grief that made me cry on the job, haha. We'll see what they have in store for us soon! We're also working on putting together a documentary on the local school system. I'm a bit concerned about this documentary, to be honest. The school district demanded final editing rights, which pisses me off because I know they're more concerned with their image than with anything approaching historical accuracy. They've already forbidden us from covering anything to do with segregation- honestly, if they think I'm gonna put together a white-washed everything-is-fine history of this town and completely ignore everything on the other side of the tracks, they're fucking delirious. Thankfully it seems like my supervisors are on the same page. It would not only make the school system look bad to conveniently avoid the elephant in the room, but it would make us look like shit as well. What a completely ridiculous request.
Zine O'Biology Volume 2 is well underway, and I've got to finish my piece soon. I've also got a few more cupid cat adopts to do before this season is over- no idea whether I'll be accepted as a Guest Artist next season, but I sure hope so! It's been a lot of fun working on these adopts and it's also been a huge help with all my recent medical bills. Speaking of bills, I still owe some commissions as well... Eek! The holidays are so busy, it drives me nuts. Especially considering I'm in 4 different Secret Santa art exchanges right now (and counting?!).
Ki and I were both also accepted into an OC-focused pinup zine. I'll promote that here once it's out as well!
The links to my artist hangout server, Solar System, are still temporarily removed from my website. If you'd like to join, please feel free to message me on discord (sunpop) or shoot me an email! This is because I was getting a lot of hateful and offensive shouts and drawings on my homepage :(. We are now at... Two Whole Months of someone leaving nazi-ass drawings on my site. Consider this an earnest plea to that person to just please leave me alone. I'm never gonna not delete those drawings, so stop wasting your time. We're in around the 80-something range of deleted drawings, you fucking no-life loser. Buy a sketchbook and leave me alone!!!
BUT, my friend Rock recently linked me some code someone put together to moderate the drawbox. So. That will be implemented soon! To anyone who has seen a nasty or hateful drawing on my site before I could delete it, I'm very sorry about that :(! But to everyone who has left me nice messages and drawings... Thank you!! I love you!
This is a short little blog entry, especially considering how hectic life has been. Thank you for reading! See you next year!!!
